What We Believe
Continuing Peoples Development believes that everyone wants to do a good job and everyone wants to work effectively and efficiently. To do this they need to fully understand the work they are doing and what outcomes they are trying to achieve.
Continuing Peoples Development believes passionately that to develop peoples potential we need to empower them to develop their own knowledge and understanding. The more they understand the context of their work the more they will be able to take the initiative and find solutions that will work best for them, their school and community or organisation. In turn this will have a greater impact on the young people they work with not just today this week or term but for life.

To empower the people we work with it is essential we help them access the education and training they need. If we help them to develop themselves they will move from being led to leading from dependency to independency. As they gain a greater understanding of the impact their work can have on the lives of the young people they will recognise how other organisations and individuals can support what they are trying to achieve. They will recognise the importance of working in partnership with others to create a supportive environment that will help young people to flourish. They will see and hear the impact that high quality physical education, sport and physical activity can have on the lives, schools and communities in which young people live.
Getting busy practitioners to stop and consider their own developmental needs is never easy. They are often more comfortable "doing and organising" than stopping, researching and looking for more effective ways of working. With the 5 hour offer in mind we need to find ways for people to work interdependently. We need to help our workforce to look beyond the school gates for solutions.
